Counseling Psychology from Lewis & Clark College, with a specialization in couples and families. I also hold two Bachelors Degrees from Oregon State University; in Psychology and Human Development & Family Sciences. I work from a systemic, strengths-based perspective. This means I take into account the significant impact systems (relationships, families, work, school, etc) have on our lives. I work on identifying and building on your strengths and successes, as well as helping to minimize - and learn from - your challenges. I make sure therapy is collaborative and client-driven, after all, it's your life. It is important to know that one of the main factors that indicate success in treatment is the therapeutic relationship. It is important that you feel connected and safe with your therapist. I make sure to infuse parts of my personality into my work, so you can genuinely connect with me. I believe in meeting my clients wherever they are in life (good or bad), and help movement occur right from the beginning of our work together. You should leave our first meeting with a clear sense about the direction of therapy, treatment goals, and your role in the process. |
